Helen Mutenda
My name is Helen Mutenda, I
was born on 22nd June 1984, in Ndola Zambia, this year I am 21 years.
I am the third born in a family of five.
I have one young sister
and three brothers; I live in Chifubu Township with my mother. My mother is the
one looking after us and she does not work.
I started school in 1992
at Kanini basic school, and did my last grade at Kansenshi Secondary School in
2003.
After completion of
school, I had to stay at home for years, before I came here at Mechanics for
Africa College this year 2005.
The main reason of being
at this college is to do mechanics as there are few females doing it. I also
want to be part of the few number in this country of ours.

Just a little about myself, I was born here in Zambia, but
left when I was a toddler. My parents decided that God was calling them back in
Zambia in faith. As we were not prepared financially.
After moving over here, we found our resources running out,
God has provided every step of our life. My parents are supporting an orphanage
and have built several schools. Moreover, are looking for other projects as we
are a non-profit, we are a charity and have to find ways to look after
ourselves.
The reason I am here at MFAZ is to learn skills of mechanics
and possibly pass the knowledge to others and to help my family. The main reason
of doing this was that spiritually I was lead here. I therefore, thank my
sponsors and I hope the skills obtained here will be used later in my life.

Jonathan Kapemba Maluti is my name. I was born on 6th
April 1975 and I am a sixth born in the family of ten. I have a mother, while my
Father died. I started school in 1982 and completed secondary education in 1993
at Nchelenge High school in Luapula Province.
I am married with two children and live with them. I became
interested in mechanics when I started visiting my brother who had a workshop
and assisted him when he was repairing cars.
In 2004 applied to MFAZ, and was accepted. I am very glad to
be at a college that offers Diploma in mechanics and Life skills such as
Agriculture, Health and Spiritual Guidance. After completing the Course, I plan
to set-up a small Workshop so that I can work on my own and be self-reliance
help my family and others.

My name is Kenny Simfukwe. I am single aged 25. I am a Zambian
citizen, born in Kitwe Central Hospital in the Copperbelt Province.
I did my Primary level at Dambo Primary School. After that l
did my junior level at Kansenshi Secondary School and completed at Chifubu

My name is Lazarous Nyirenda. I was born on
24 years ago in Ndola. I am the third born in the family of five.
Both my parents are alive.
I started school in 1987. I completed my
primary school in 1997. I qualified to go to junior secondary at the same
school. I later attended senior secondary and finished in 1999. Since then, I
have been doing piece works to help myself. This did not help much as I needed
to have a skill.
My name is Lena Makusa, I was born on 28th
March 1983 in Lusaka, the Capital City of Zambia. I am a young lady among the
children among the same family of four (4) sisters and five (5) brothers. The
rest live in Lusaka with my parents who are Farmers, except my sister, I live
with here in Ndola.
I am very happy to be at MFAZ College
because I thought; being at home doing nothing was not a good solution at all. I
am an understanding, cheerful and kind young lady living in Mushili township of
Ndola with my Sister and Brother- in- law. They have been looking after me, for
11 years now.
I started this course because I have had
an interest and also to provide gender equity in male dominated careers in this
nation. This will remove the taboos attached to ladies doing mechanics.
Although, the Course is quite challenging, however, catching up slowly and hope
by the end of the year ,I will do better.
Nawa Mwiya is my name, born
on 1st June 1983. I was born in Mongu District in the Western
Province of Zambia. I began my primary education in Livingstone; I continued my

at Woodland “B”, later moved to Kabulonga Secondary School for my junior

I live in a country that
is economically struggling; Motor Vehicle Engineering has been my ambition from
Childhood. In addition, God lead me to this college MFAZ. I find it necessary to
do a life skill Course, as it will sustain me in future. I intend to establish
my on Workshop, which will expand in due course

My family and I have
